Once upon a time fanfiction used to come with titles. People used to put thought into their stories, poured their heart and soul into every word and the title was part of that. The rating of a story was something you’d ponder on and sex scenes fullfilled a purpose. An author would provide their potential readers with a summary so we could choose what we invested our time in. We’d name the pairings included, spoilers and put a fair warning into the description if there was death, violence or anything else that could trigger negative emotions.

Nowadays you get a link called “my fanfiction please review” and that’s that.
